We’re pleased to announce information for this year’s Sgt. Bertram 5K-9. We’ve had to make some unfortunate changes to the race protocol this year, due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic. The 2020 Sgt. Bertram 5K-9 will be a virtual race. Race Registration is currently open and will remain open until October 10th at 4:00 PM. Registering for the race is simple, you can do so by following the link below for electronic registration or you can stop by the Police Department and pick up a paper registration form. Race registration is $30.00.
Pre-Registration is open until Sunday September 20th at 5:00 PM. All Pre-Registrations for the 2020 Sgt. Bertram 5K-9 will include a free Sgt. Bertram 5K-9 T-shirt. Additional shirts can be ordered at $30.00 each. The shirts are similar to last year’s shirts but are navy blue this year.
So, how does our virtual race run? Well, we hope it’ll be pretty simple. The virtual race will open Sunday October 11th at 8:00 and run thru Saturday October 17th at 4:00 PM. Once you’ve registered simply go out anytime during the week stated above and run your race. Keep your time and we’ll provide you the online form to upload it to for prize categories. While you’re running feel free to snap a selfie and post it to our Sgt. Bertram 5K-9 Facebook page using #SgtBertram5K9. Remember to take pics of you and your dog(s) running too! We’ll go live on Facebook from the
Charlestown Police Department’s Facebook page to announce the race winners on October 17th at 5:00 PM
In addition this year we’re going to be raffling off a custom set of Cornhole boards. These boards were custom made last year and donated to the Police Department. Raffle tickets are $3.00 each.
The winning ticket will be selected via Facebook live at 5:00 PM on October 17th.
Proceeds from the 2020 Sgt. Bertram 5K-9 will be donated to C.O.P.S., (Concerns of Police Survivors), as well as the Charlestown Middle School Wrestling Program.
