Report Copy Services

Charlestown Police Department report copies (including Crash / Accident Reports) can be obtained Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (excluding holidays); at the CHPD headquarters, located at 703 Main Street, Charlestown, IN.  There is a $5.00 charge for all report services.

Availability of police reports is based on the current case status; as copies of active case reports can not be released by the Records Division.  The Department suggests contacting the Charlestown Police Department Records Division in advance; to determine if the desired report is available, before making a trip to the department.  The Records Division can be contacted during regular business hours, excluding holidays, at 812-256-7136 or via email by CLICKING HERE.

Indiana Crash (Accident) Reports can also be purchased on-line by using www.BuyCrash.com.

Notice:  If you are involved in a motor vehicle crash (accident), all drivers are required by Indiana State Law to submit a completed Indiana Operator’s Proof of Insurance/Crash Report (SR-21 form) to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, within ten (10) days of the crash.  Contact your insurance agent for assistance in ensuring the proper reporting is completed after a motor vehicle crash; failure can result in a suspension of driving privileges.
