Obtaining a Local Background Check

Local Records Checks can be can be obtained Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (excluding holidays); at the CHPD headquarters, located at 703 Main Street, Charlestown, IN.  There is a $5.00 charge for all report services, and valid photo identification is required to obtain a Local Records Check.

PLEASE NOTE: The Local Records Checks involve the inspection of active records on file with the Charlestown Police Department (Charlestown, IN); and not the records of any other agency or entity.

ADDITIONALLY:  Indiana Criminal History Records Checks must be obtained through the Indiana State Police, and can not be obtained from local police agencies.  For more information on obtaining Criminal History Records, go to http://www.in.gov/ai/appfiles/isp-lch/
