They are doing some renovating to the Church and have some construction materials that were delivered today. They should be working at the Church tomorrow and using the materials so they’ll just be outside overnight tonight. Please keep an extra eye on the Church, especially during the overnight hours. The Charlestown Police Department has entered into a collaborative partnership with LifeSpring Health Systems’ PROJECT CARE. The project is designed to identify citizens who have experienced an incident involving a substance use disorder overdose or mental health event; and then follow-up for purposes of support and assistance in obtaining preventative treatment resources locally. The CHPD Project Care liaison is Cpl. Tyler Lyons; who will collaborate weekly with the LifeSpring Health System Project Care team. “We look forward to collaborating with Project Cares to make it easier for our citizens to have the opportunity to receive services, that otherwise may not have been known to them”, said Chief Kruse. A similar partnership with Jeffersonville Police Department has proven to successfully reduce overdose fatalities and drug arrests since August of 2021.
