Charlestown Police Training Unit / Field Day
On an annual basis, the Charlestown Police Training Unit, organizes and manages an all day training exercise, named FIELD DAY. Field Day is similar to that which the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy provides rookie police officers at the end of each "Basic Training" course. The exercise is divided into several scenario stations, each focusing on a different situation police officers in Charlestown routinely experience. Some of the stations included are: domestic violence situations, low and high risk traffic stops, field sobriety, use of force and paperwork training. Below are some pictures from this year's FIELD DAY, held in November, at the Charlestown Middle School.
