The Charlestown Police Department public lobby will return to normal operations access beginning Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020; however normal also includes that visitors to the Department, located at 703 Main Street, PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING and limit lobby occupancy to one person at a time. Signage to politely remind visitors of these rules have been posted in the Department lobby.
Just as a reminder, CHPD police assistance can easily be summoned, from the Department lobby, after regular business hours (when the Records Office is closed), by simply using the lobby phone to contact a police dispatcher at Clark County Emergency Communications. The Clark County Emergency Communications Dispatchers are in direct contact with CHPD officers 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, including all holidays.
The Charlestown Police Department Records Division Office will also return to normal operating hour of operations on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020. The Records Office will return to the normal operating hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (excluding Holidays); including in-person access to Department services such as Report Copies, Local Record Checks, Vehicle Inspections, and Handgun Permit reviews. Please note that department fees, which had been waived on on-line transactions in April and May due to COVID-19; will also be reinstated on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020.
