Charlestown’s Founder’s Day This Weekend

The annual Charlestown Founder’s Day Celebration is this weekend on the City Square in the middle of Charlestown, Friday and Saturday, June 23rd and 24th, 2017.

The Charlestown Police Department asks everyone to be mindful of all festival rules and regulations established for the safety and well being of everyone attending.  Also, it is very important not to park where posted as a NO PARKING area nor on private property or in a manner which blocks anyone’s access to private property.

Traffic Advisory for Saturday morning’s Founder’s Day Parade:

The Charlestown Founder’s Day Celebration Parade will be begin promptly from the south parking lot of the Charlestown High School at 10:30 am Saturday morning.  The parade route includes traveling Park Street to Market Street (Indiana Highway #3) south to Main Street, then east on Main Street to Level Street for units returning to the High School parking lot.

Market Street (Indiana Highway #3) will be closed by the Charlestown Police Department at approximately 10:15 am in preparation for the parade; from Indiana Highway #62 to County Road #403.  Traffic will be detoured via Monroe Street for purposes of avoiding congestion and the parade road closure.  Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
