Dallas Fletcher called in and requested extra patrol at the Church on Park Street across from the entrance to CHS. They are doing some renovating to the Church and have some construction materials that were delivered today. They should be working at the Church tomorrow and using the materials so they’ll just be outside overnight tonight. Please keep an extra eye on the Church, especially during the overnight hours. The women and men of the Charlestown Police Department wish everyone a very Happy New Year; with sincere hopes that everyone has a fun but safe New Years Eve this evening.  Those who are venturing away from their homes, please remember to have a designated plan for not driving while impaired on any substance.  CHPD, along with most first responders nationwide, wants to have a quiet and uneventful evening / night; and no one wants anyone hurt or worse.  It is truly no fun having to inform the loved ones of a family members tragic death; especially on a holiday and due to a senseless act such a intoxicated driving.  Happy New Year everyone!
