                 Competition Judging / 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

                 Trophy Presentation / 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Charlestown Police Reserves would like to welcome you and your department to our Car Show & Burn-Out Contest. In an effort to enhance the law enforcement theme, and promote local inter-departmental pride and camaraderie, we proudly present, the Charlestown Police Reserves Car Show & Burn-Out Contest Police Cruiser Display & Competition. We hope that the Cruiser Display & Competition portion of our annual Car Show will become an event that local law enforcement officers look forward to, prepare for, and afterwards brag about with fellow officers.


Competition Categories & Award Summary:

Trophies will be awarded to entries receiving the most judge’s votes, in each of the following respective categories:

1.) Best Overall Marked Unit, best overall interior & exterior design of all "MARKED/ROAD" entries.

2.) Best Overall Un-marked Unit, best overall interior & exterior design/appearance of all

"UN-MARKED/ROAD" entries.

3.) Best Exterior Vehicle Design, based on the sleekest, most eye-catching department vehicle exterior design combined with the ability of easy identification as an police emergency vehicle.

4.) Best Interior Vehicle Design, based on the most functional, accessible, professional and safety-minded vehicle interior equipment set-up and/or design.

5.) Best Overall Special Operations Vehicle, based on the sharpest, most functional design and/or use of a vehicle designated for police activities or purposes other than routine road patrol. i.e. D.A.R.E., S.W.A.T., MOBILE COMMAND or Special Patrol/Operations units.

6.) The Code Three Award, based on the entry that produces the most and efficient use of flashing, rotating and strobe light warning power; as well as, the loudest audible warning power (siren).


Police Cruiser Display & Competition Rules, Guidelines & Details:

1.) There is no entry fee, nor reservations required for any entry.

2.) The display and competition are open to all Indiana and Kentucky law enforcement agencies. (including Conservation, DOT/Motor Carrier & Corrections Department & Divisions).

3.) There are no minimum or maximum entries required.

4.) All entrants must register their vehicle(s) upon arrival, and be escorted to the designated display area by an event official.

5.) Entrants of the same department may display together, given prior notice of number and size of expected vehicles to the Cruiser Display contact official.

6.) Entrants desiring to display related articles or equipment, in conjunction with his/her entry, and beyond the realm of said vehicle entry, may do so, only after approval by the contact official.

7.) Host vehicles (namely those of the City of Charlestown Police Department) are not eligible for competition.

8.) All judges will be considered "field expert", and must have no direct affiliation with any entrant and/or entrant department. Judges decisions will be considered final and all tie-breaking votes to be cast by the contact official, show chairman and designated CRPD executive officer.

9.) No vehicle entries should be left unattended and unsecured (unlocked) for any period of time.

10.) Entrants and Participants assume all responsibility and liability for all property, personal or otherwise, on display; including any damages, injuries, losses, judgments and/or claims.
