2011 Burn Out Rules & Instructions


Burn-Out Instructions =

1.) Any Burn-Out instruction may be modified or changed the day of the show and will be brought to all participant’s attention.

2.) All Burn-Out entries will be staged, and lined up behind the concession stand between 1:00 PM and 1:15 PM, day of the show. BE AT YOUR CAR!!!!!!

3.) Entries will be directed to pull inside the Burn-Out area & place the vehicle in PARK gear. Burn Out will begin at 1:40 pm.

4.) A rope will be tied to the left upper arm of the driver. (A tug of this rope, by a Burn-Out official, will signify the end of the "burn" and vehicle shut down.)

5.) Driver will then be instructed, by a Burn-Out official, to place the entry vehicle in DRIVE gear.

6.) Driver will then be instructed, by a Burn-Out official, to start his "burn", by countdown from the number three (3).

7.) The Burn-Out time limit will be thirty (30) seconds, beginning at the start signal, and ending at the tug of the rope, by a Burn-Out official.

8.) Driver will then be instructed to place his/her vehicle in REVERSE gear, and back it approximately 8 feet, out of the burn area, and place the vehicle in PARK gear.

9.) When instructed by a Burn-Out official, the driver will be instructed to exit the staging and Burn-Out area.

10.) FAILURE OF ANY PARTICIPANT TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS OR THE DIRECT INSTRUCTIONS OF A BURN-OUT OFFICIAL MAY RESULT IN CONTEST DISQUALIFICATION.

Burn Out Rules =

Rule #1: All drivers will follow the instructions of the Burn-Out officials or as outlined above.

Rule #2: If any entry vehicle posses line lock, it should be engaged in addition to the burn area stop/chock devices.

Rule #3: Entries of both the Burn-Out Contest and Car Show will burn after all single entry (burn-out only) vehicles.

Rule #4: All Burn-Outs will last for thirty (30) seconds, no longer, no exceptions.

Rule #5: No bleach or any other substance besides water will be used on the burn surface or tires of any entry vehicle.

Rule #6: All entry vehicles must have all beauty rings, Rally caps and any other loose items or objects removed before entering the staging or burn area. This is for everyone’s safety at to the discretion of Burn Out Officials.

Rule #7: FAILURE OF ANY PARTICIPANT TO FOLLOW THESE RULES OR THE DIRECT INSTRUCTIONS OF A BURN- OUT OFFICIAL MAY RESULT IN CONTEST DISQUALIFICATION.

Burn-Out Judging =

Rule #8: Judging will be done by the Burn-Out Operators, Officials and individuals selected by the Officials, and will remain the same throughout.

Rule #9: Judges scores are final.

Rule #10: Judging will be performed based on these two (2) categories:

a.) How Quick Smoke is Produced by the Entry Vehicle.

b.) The Amount of Smoke Produced by the Entry Vehicle.

Rule #11: Judging will be scored on a one (1) to ten (10) point scale, winner determined by the highest Burn Point Total.
