Two Charlestown male juveniles, ages 16 & 17, were arrested Wednesday (March 21, 2001), and charged with three counts of Burglary and two counts of Residential Entry each after an investigation of one residential burglary led to the connection of two other reported burglaries. Two of the burglaries were residential involving the theft of approximately $2,000.00 in tools and personal property, as well another $500.00 in property damage. The third burglary involved that of a Charlestown rental storage unit, where more than an additional $1,000.00 worth of tools were taken. Recovery of all the property involved is still in progress, although several items taken during the burglaries have already been recovered and returned to their respective owners. Arresting Officer Darren Baker, with the assistance of several other officers, including Charlestown Police K9 and the Clark County Police Department, were able to make the suspect apprehensions within 12 hours of the first reported burglary. Upon arrest, the juveniles were transported to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center pending a hearing on the multiple Burglary and Residential Entry charges.
